Cy Keener
Art + Science Advisor
Who they are
Cy Keener is an Associate Professor of Sculpture and Emerging Technology in the Department of Art at the University of Maryland. He is an interdisciplinary artist and educator who uses environmental sensing and technology to understand the natural world around us. He has collaborated with Arctic scientists since 2018, building custom instruments and completing over a dozen fieldwork campaigns.
He received a Master of Fine Arts from Stanford University and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Cy has taught K-12 STEM and STEAM workshops and brings a hands-on, experiential learning approach to his role as Art + Science Advisor at Pródos Academy. He is excited to re-engage with the Phoenix community, where he previously lived for five years.
