Carrie Nimmer
Who they are
Carrie Nimmer is an award-winning landscape designer, educator, and consultant who has created colorful, water-wise landscapes in the Phoenix area for over 30 years. She began her training at the New York Botanic Garden, but considers the desert her teacher.
Carrie has been an instructor at the Desert Botanical Garden, ASU, and local colleges, and developed extensive curriculum in landscape design, drought-tolerant plants, wildflowers, and desert ethnobotany. As design instructor for the Desert Botanical Garden's Desert Landscaper School, she managed the design and installation of landscapes for Habitat for Humanity in Phoenix for ten years. Her lectures draw students, professionals, and homeowners who want to explore new models for Sonoran Desert living and food culture.
